Thats a hard question because both tools are awesome.
The only thing I don't like about Scrapebox is its slow as fuck at testing proxies. And this will get really annoying if you're a person like me who doesn't use private proxies. It also requires a lot more maintenance as far as scraping keywords, scraping lists, cleaning lists down, then finally posting to sites.
I have built massive lists over the years with scrapebox and have over 3 million sites to post to. And I'm no expert at using either tool. But I've noticed that as far as time vs rewards go, I can keep SB running for days, and get 10-25% as many links indexed as GSA. Even if I blast say 300,000 urls, its a PITA just getting those links indexed.
So once I got GSA, I stopped using SB for link building. Now I mostly use it for just building keyword / site lists for GSA.
The downside to GSA is it can take a lot of optimizing to get your LPM up. But even if I submit to 1/1000th the amount of sites, I still wind up with more links getting indexed. And this its much easier to use with indexing platforms like indexification. Like if I submit to a bunch of urls using SB. I can't submit those links to indexification. As long as I've had Scrapebox its been very buggy. The "check links" option is slow as fuck, it takes years just to check which links stuck, and 99% of the time the program freezes. So in the 3 years I've had scrapebox, not one time have I successfully been able to verify urls then send them to indexification.
In fact, A LOT of things about Scrapebox can be aggravating. I've never been able to harvest more than 300,000-400,000 urls at a time. The program ALWAYS freezes and I have to go in and find the list where it autosaves it in the folder. Then its pointless to reharvest urls since I have to start from square 1 again using the same keyword list. I realize I can break my lists down and use multiple instances of SB but it takes too much time and bullshit to deal with. I've never found an easy way to take a list of say 1,000,000 keywords and cut it down into 10 lists of 100,000 keywords. I have to go in and scan down from keyword 1 - 100,000, then save, then 100,000 - 200,000 and save.
Again I'm not an expert at using the program, but most of the time its buggy, slow, and when you really try to push the envelope the shit just freezes up and breaks down.
With GSA, I have NEVER had the program freeze once. It never stutters, it never acts weird, its runs 100xs smoother. I don't have to continually test proxies, and can just leave the shit running for days and get tons of verified / indexed links. The links are also much better quality imo.
But like I said, I still use scrapebox cause its great for generating lists and filtering them down. It just causes me a ton of aggravation anytime I have large projects. So if I were to recommend software, I'd recommend GSA with Captcha Breaker. Especially if you're a newbie to automated software. Cause once you have a campaign set up you can let that shit run practically forever.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Scrapebox is bad. I know people on here who are masters at using it, and they can use it 100xs better than I can. But over the last 6 months I've veered over to using mostly GSA. And I've personally gotten much better results with GSA (ranking videos mainly) then SB.
