Wordpress handsdown. Blogger might be more appealing from a free point of view, as I know that Blogger's user interface is probably better for first time bloggers than Wordpres.com's but the features of Wordpress win this one hands down.

If you are comparing free blogger.com and wordpress.com then blogger is better.. its a lot easier to setup and manage.. if you play it right its better.. but we focus on building both.

but if you are pitching it against self hosted wordpress.. blogger is no match for wordpress...

Mate,

Well some says wordpress and some internet gurus out there says Google love wordpress. It we talk about wordpress, wordpress is a blogging flatform and its very easy to use specially if you are a newbie.

Blogger is also good specially if you are just starting. To experience what is best and suitable for you business needs, use them both mate and tried to observe which is better to use..

Wordpress = needs some cost to expense.. domain, web hosting, wordpress themes etc etc..

Blogger = FREE to use, you can do what ever you want to... There are lots of bloggers templates out there..

If you want to self-host a blog, go for WP even when it's 2 am.

I've used them both. I started with Blogger and it is very easy to use for a first timer. However, I wanted to incorporate my blog into my e-commerce site so I switched to a self hosted Wordpress setup. It blows Blogger out of the water! Not even close.
