I have an eBay account from 2005 with no limits. eBay told me it was grandfathered. Only 45 feed backs and no use in the last year. Anyone know if it is worth anything ?

Thanks

i havent used in a while and listed something the otherday and there wasnt any limits listed on the selling page, so i called ebay to ask what the limits are and she told me that it was gradfathered and i didnt have a selling limit,

Hopefully that amount of time won't put a selling limit on the account for inactivity. -_-

Always a surprise on what they do.

some one is offering me 100 bucks for it , but i have no idea if its worth anything at all ??

i dont think so , she said there was no limt and granfathered because it was an old account from before limits .. she laughed and said she can add limits if i want ! of course i said no thanks. any info would be great ?

yes , that is what she told me , that they couldnt add limits because its an old account from before limits were the thing ..

Not bad then, would definitely be interested for sure as we have a couple of being looking for an account like this.

my email is the same as my user name but yahoo

If it really has no limits, easily worth 4 figures, because 2005 accounts also don't have a paypal requirement.

Don't trust what eBay says. I had a unlimited account where I was selling $10K a month out of and one day they limited it because a competitor screwed with me and they lowered my DSR's to 4.57 from 4.85 because they did like 7 negs from different accounts. I called eBay and complained (all 7 shipments went to addresses within 1/2 mile of each other, 5 to same post office), and eBay reps told me to go sell elsewhere.

there isnt a pp account associated with that ebay account. that is what i was told from the reps , but ya never know with them .. i sold a phone recently on another account ... and the buyer sent it back 3 weeks later and got a full refund , and the phone she sent back was not even the same phone and ebay wont do anything about it .. so im out 300 over that deal .. they said the buyer is protected , they dont protect the sellers as much as they used to . i appealed and it was denied..

That shouldn't be a problem if eBay account is as you claim, as you can create a virgin paypal and attach it without problems. However, if you detached the paypal account because it was on the verge of getting shut down, your eBay account may be marked for restriction if you start listing some items.

the buyer is protected , they dont protect the sellers as much as they used to

I wouldn't sell phones on eBay for this reason.

Just remember if you are selling to someone who is going to make thousands off of it, charge a lot. :)

I can't remember if ebay asks for any ssn details? That would be my only concern with selling. Plus, I have my PP attached to mine and the account is my bread and butter. Makes me nervous to read about the problems others have had.
