People have already answered, but an affiliate is someone who recommends products or services and if their readers or audience buy them then they get a percentage of the sale as a kind of referral fee. It's a great way to make income but the start can be difficult because it often takes time fro you to see any real results, you have to create a lot of content or some people run ads.

Affiliates are people who sell/promote products and you basically get revenue share for it.

The simplest way to explain it is to say that affiliate is a person or a company that earns a commission for advertising and selling another person's or company's products. The affiliates promote some products on their sites and earn a piece of the profit from each sale they make. It's a more natural way to promote and sell than classic paid advertising as we can reach a wider audience that already confides in someone else. The threats could be that you can come up to untrusty partners that won't pay you as they should or that won't help you improve your business. But it's generally one of the best ways to advertise and earn more money nowadays.
