What is ad dripping?

Does ad dripping refer to adding fake followers in a controlled manner, say adding 100 followers per month and monitoring them over time?
If it does, then where can I find such service providers on the web?

I haven't heard this term in reference to social media followers but it sounds more like drip marketing. This marketing strategy involves distributing pre-designed messages to prospects over a predetermined time period. These messages are typically soft touches instead of "loud" advertisements.

Of course this could just be a term that I have not heard of before and it may mean something totally different. Or perhaps the place you heard/read it in may have used it improperly.
