What is a sidebar backlink?

it's called sitewide links, yes it's done with widgets. Just add a Text/HTML widget and make a hyper with your keyword anchor. but, if the site youre taking from sitewide has hundreds of thousands of post it is not recommended.

Some times it causes problems because from each page or post you have the same sidebar widget it will push an outgoing link to th destination site.
So it can for example create 15 links from the same domain.

You can get custom widget and use only one

It's on your website right side or left side one links.

and yet they are the one that use the most of them. If you want to succeed only widget links work.
 
so is there a limit of pages where i can put a sidewide link. i mean suppose if a site has 50 above articles and one site have 8 pages.. which one is preferable.

Thanks for the input.
If you only have the side bar on one page, then you will not have the problem and it will not be a site wide link issue. The issue is if you have the side bar on many pages.
