I have found a domain for sale that is pr8?
Its in my niche.
It is 2 words and a .com!

Whats it worth? and is there any way i can validate the pr? i have used a pr validation tool online and it seems to be valid? any other suggestions of validating it?

There are a few sources online you could use.

A PR 8 can be quite expensive, considering its not dropped.

Ive seen PR 8 blogrolls go for as much as $500 a month successfully!

Are you sure the PR is real? Check again here:

Are you sure thats not fake PR? There are few PR8 sites out there and fewer for sale.

It's not good at detecting fake pr,there was a fiverr post regarding a certain link,it shows as real on this site,it's not.

any other tips on detecting fake PR?

google:
Code:
info:domain.com
You can also check the PR of backlinks. PR doesn't appear just from thin air. The PR8 site should be quite old (check whois) and web archive.

ok - in archive.org i can see a history going back to 1996 but about 3 years ago it looked like the site closed down and someone bought the domain and put a holding page on it.
info:domain.com shows NO information?

I guess i should leave this one well alone!!!!

You could also use checkpagerank.net and it will tell you if the page rank is real or not. Do your research, download seo spyglass to check the backlinks report for the site as well. You won't lose your page rank right away as long as you add content. It takes a while before you start to lose page rank right away, i have a couple of sites that i have bought that were expiring from godaddy auctions and never had a problem w/losing pagerank. But you do have to do a little bit of research on your end.

It is highly unlikely that the site is legit. There are PR tricks all the time. If it is a PR 8, it would surely have a few thousand referring domains on MajesticSEO. Run a free report on Majestic. Check the domain age, I don't think it could be PR8 and less than 6-7 years old. There are only a few thousand PR8's total, just be sure its legit. If it IS legit, it can rank for anything. It could easily be worth $25k.

Just few days ago I paid $400 for permanent sticky post on homepage of PR7 domain, and I think this was a great deal.
So PR8 domain could be worth alot. Check the amount and quality of links, if there is only few quality ones, they could be gone after sale, but if there are 10 000 links, and 200 quality ones, then it is a different story.
