Wordpress is actually pretty easy, just take a hour or 2 and learn it. Nothing beats wordpress.

There are many other light and simple blogging programs available other than WordPress like Wix, Ghost, Jekyll, Tumblr, Blogger etc. Overall, the best light and simple blogging program for you will depend on your specific needs and preferences. It's a good idea to explore different options and try out a few different platforms to find the one that works best for you. I would suggest you Wix platform.

You must do an extra effort to get it. It will be worthy. Don't step down to anything "simpler" because all the efforts you do by executing AI, will be diminished by the rigidity of a "simpler" platform as you say.
What do you find complex in WordPress? I've set this up to many types of users, and almost all have been able to keep moving forward. Maybe you just need a simple hosting with Wordpress preinstalled, a very simple theme and the plugin called "Classic Editor" to have the simplest platform ever.

But what is simpler blogging platform then wordpress though? It's wordpess itself. Try a simple and easy theme. Search some YouTube video for a simple blogging theme and how to use it.

I've tried others but wordpress is the best.
You could use Shopify its easier to use but seo plugins are not as good for blogging.

i think most easyest blogging platform is wordpess itself and its community is too strong and so easy to use than the other platform . in my opinion just try to use that gradually that would be easier for you . or if you really want to skip wordpress then i think you can for for WIX too .hope so that will be helpfull for you too.

jeckyll and hugo are very popular and robust. very light-weight compared to other software.
personally i stay far away from WP unless absolutely necessary.
