I'm looking at some methods and it says to get a nice landing page but it doesnt explain what it is, please help

A landing page is the first page someone sees when they see your site. It is typically a place where things are sold or where the selling process begins. Leading neatly down a funnel to the final purchase page.

You can type landing page on google and check the images to know what they look like.
They are usually used to collect emails and build a list giving away some free staff. Or optin before purchasing a product

It's the page your visitor see's before they arrive at your affiliate link.
Like @OussamaCR says, google images will show you what they generally look like.

Landing page is any web page that a visitor can arrive at or land on and used mostly for marketing and advertising.

It's the page where people are sent, to convince them to take some action: buy/subscribe to newsletter/whatever action.A landing page is different from other type of pages because it shouldn't contain any navigation link.Landing pages should have only one way out: user taking action.

If you're not register to F@cebook and no cookie, the first page you go into is the landing page.

You know, the one it makes you fill-out a form including your name and birthday and email in order to use F@cebook ?

Basically, it's a sales page, telling your customer about the product, and convincing them to trade something to use it. (Money, private information ...etc)

There are some pretty good descriptions in here so I'll just say:
Make sure to use one! Landing pages are heaven sent. If done right, they increase conversion rates. If done wrong, you can scare off customers or lose their interest, etc.

Also -- there are many templates for landing pages but you can make one yourself, that's what I did.
Either way, make sure it includes a description of what your product is, and tell the customer how it will revolutionize their life (without lying or you'll end up with refunds everywhere).
Make sure to have an image of your product somewhere on the page. If you have a software product, create a mock-up box in Photoshop and put the image there. This helps the customer visualize what they get in return for their hard-earned money.
Most important -- have a BIG CALL TO ACTION. Landing pages are meant to convert so don't be shy and put a big ass button near the middle of the screen for them to click and continue.
