I was looking through some keywords and I found one I like that gets around 3k monthly without too much competition.

Is this a good keyword to build a website around?

For AdSense sites no, but If the kw might generate revenue through affiliate comission (Amazon, Clickbak, CPA, etc), then Yes.

Well, 3k search volume can be a decent start. I dont see a reason why not to do it. As long as it will bring you conversions.

Also you could throw in a second, even a third main keyword in the mix. So on the end that means way more traffic right.

Is it a good idea to fill a page with multiple different keywords so you can rank for all of them at the same time with the same backlink. Or do backlinks only work on the page they directly link to?

It's all about ROI not volume...

If this 3,000 searched term is going to take 6 months work to rank, fuck no.

If its something you can rank very quickly and set and forget it, then yeah go ahead...

It's its going to bring in $100 a month, it better not take more than 2 hours per month of your time to rank and work on.

Dats big confusion,even i'd

My KW love vs money if u type in google ,you will see my site in 1st page but its too competitve ,so better go longtail words & my advice will be 100000 results to target KW

Actually, you just need to find a keyword with at least 1000 monthly (US search). This volume is enough. Probably, you also need to care more about competition in top 10.
