This may be a stupid question but I'm getting a 45% bounce rate for one of my websites. Is that good or bad?

If they are all new visitors, 45% is not bad. If these people are subscribers/regulars, then 45% seems quite high. Depend how your site displays it's information also. Reduce the bounce rate by providing people the information they came to find on another, easy to find page.

Yeah 45% is not bad is good actually very good... it also depend very much on the content

I would say that is a decent bounce rate... if you are looking to improve bounce rate, traffic from search engines typically has a much lower bounce rate then traffic from say social networking.
