What is a Blog Network?

I've heard this term over and over and it's still kind of vague to me what it means. So what is a "blog network"?

Is it just a network of blogs sharing/interconnecting links?
Are they usually high-pr blogs? PR 3+?
What's the point of having them?

A private blog network is a network of blogs owned by a single individual or a group. It is designed with the sole intent of boosting search engine rankings. Typically all blogs are hosted on a c-class ip, are of a high page rank, and take many precautions from being detected.

Some example precautions are:
- unique name servers
- unique backlink profile
- unique theme
- unique ip address
- no: casino/gabling, adult, pharma links <-- these tend to attract unwanted attention / hurt clean site rankings

Now a days Blog Networks play an important role to boost your traffic as well as ranking inside the search engines....and detail as mention above by The Demon.

It's a network of 100 or more blogs. Each blog is there with only one purpose - to have blog posts which link to your money site and, thus, get better rankings and more visitors for you. Usually people write spintax articles and submit them to those blogs.

Although it is recommended to have high PR blogs in blog networks, it just depends on the owner/owners in that blog network and on the recent PR update. You have to check that with them before submitting your money site.

The point of having them? Well, better rankings for your money site ofc

A blog network is a group of blogs that are connected to each other in a network.
These are my basic criteria for being considered a blog network:

• network members are individual blog authors
• admission isn?t automated but based of human judgment
• network does not enforce publishing platform
• encourages community building
• nuclear aggregation of content
