What if You Had a really great Idea?

I'll keep this brief. I have an idea for a product that I know has wide appeal but NO ONE produces it. Trust me I've done the research. The thing is I got ripped of once for $1000's because I shared my idea with someone back in the 90's, and got screwed badly.

So who would you confide in if you had a great idea and needed help with it? Thanks for your help...

Tell people bits and pieces of your idea for their opinion on that certain part.

why do you need to confide in anybody let alone make a thread about your great idea that you do not intend to share...

Post the entire blueprinted idea on this forum.

I always go to an attorney, mentor, and have agreements in hand that they sign pre conversation.

I need to get help with producing the product. Obviously if I could do it alone I wouldn't need to confide in anyone.

Patent comes to mind for a physical product, they'll patent anything these days. If its an idea with legal implications keep it to yourself. Otherwise JV and move with it.

Anyone you speak about your idea with should sign a NDA at the minimum and a non-compete.

That is a good idea. Make some sort of non disclosure agreement form and have it signed by whomever I'm dealing with.

Contact a Patent Attorney. He will tell you if the idea is patentable
or not . . . At the very least, you might be granted a Design Patent.
