Because for some people their first and last name is well known and brand-able.
For example an independent contractor in IT may be well known by his full name, and on that is his portfolio and maybe his resume. If he used a pen name it looks unprofessional and nobody would "get" the name association, so he would lose work.

Why wouldn't you use some pen name? I never understood guys registering their real name as domain. FirstnameLastName domains always made me think "awww how cute, he's trying to be a brand"... WF is full of those.
