Is there any harm in editing the spam comments I receive on my WordPress-based blog, making them the way I want and publishing them?

I do that some times, just make sure to change the email and name too

You can simply generate fake comments yourself with fake random data and any content you want instead,
There's nothing much in terms of SEO benefits to be added,
Probably will make the website look more legit and trustworthy if that's what you're looking for

I wouldn't recommend using these spam comments on a legit WordPress website.
