notepad++ is so easy for quick edits

really like webuilder 2008 as it 'speaks' javascript and php...will run both (but php has to be installed locally) in to preview window

just started playing with MS Expressions - pretty cool, but a bit of a curve.

R-

blumentals (the people that make wb2008) have a great FREE css editor...been using it to tweak and compress css files

Dreamweaver CS3 for Mac

I love it. Once I got used to using Dreamweaver I was smooth sailing...

Notepad, DW CS4 and definitely EditPlus. Starting with Notepad, then tweaking in DW then finalizing in EditPlus [which gives me both, the code and the html view] - so, am happy.

someone mentioned they use joomla i do too and i just edit the templates/css manually online too

if not doing that it will normally be notepad and then dreamweaver cs3

I used the newest version of Dreamweaver... whatever that is.

Torrented of course

I think it's good, but it can be a bit buggy... and it's limited in ease of use.

If you are not a code expert and don't like troubleshooting a lot I'd suggest you try something else.

I have used a few. Notepad is good and all if your just starting to learn HTML. But once you get good with HTML go get Dream Weaver... Use torrents or whatever to get it for free. Just don't get Frontpage or Sharepoint (they are 1 in the same) cuz they really suck.. its more complicated if you ask me.

Notepad++, but the microsoft .asp visual IDE is very nice, checked it out since i'm getting into .asp lately. You guys should try it it's really awsome. Was able to build a CMS skeleton just following one of their tutorials ^^

Got used to dreamweaver (and I like the shorthand coding, it saves me lots of time). But if its in extremes I would use any text editor to get it done on time.

I use Dreamweaver CS3 when I'm editing huge documents or PHP docs because of the color coding and the fact that it shows you the line#s for code (and php tells you which line errors are occurring on)

Otherwise I just use Notepad. On my laptop I've been using Kompozer instead of Dreamweaver
