So what we used to do. We get the droplet from DigitalOcean and install WHM. After that we purchase the license for Litespeed cache plugin. It installed on top of WHM and replace it's default Apache server with Litespeed server. It's something to do with how caching works, I'm not sure. But we tried redis, memcache and varnish. Litespeed showed the best results on Pagespeed insights from Google.

But don't forget that it's important that the theme and architecture of the wordpress website should be optimized too. If you use Elementor and put a lot of different plugins, your website will load slow doesn't matter how many cores or RAM your server have.
 
Hosting with SSD storage (greengeeks, siteground, a2, etc) , cloudflare for page caching and ssl, and htaccess gzip + css/html browser caching (instead of stupid plugins)

There are many reliable hosts, but the choice also depends on the location of your target clients and the hosting server. For example, if your target customers are in the USA, it makes no sense to take hosting in Germany. What countries are your main clients from?
 
The closer the distance from the hosting to the client, the lower the ping and the faster the site loads.
 
As many members pointed out earlier, do these things and you would be good to go:
1) Use a fast theme like GeneratePress
2) Good hosting like Cloudways/Vultr/Siteground
3) Use Cloudflare
4) Use optimized images on your website
 
It's better to go with any cloud hosting rather than shared hosting. Most of these cloud hosting providers give a free trial, so you won't be spending any money in the beginning when you're learning how to set up the hosting.
 
Namecheap is good, you might be doing something wrong in settings.
 
As others already said, it is unlikely because of hosting alone. Of course, if you use some crappy $3/mo shared hosting you should get a better one.

But most of the time it is a slow WordPress theme and a combination of poorly coded plugins. Cashing is a must nowadays and will solve 80% of the problems of even dead slow websites.

My usual setup for all new websites goes like this:

1. GeneratePress theme (lightweight and yet customizable with add-ons and some custom code) - I have tried a lot of lightweight themes and imo this is still the best one
1. A VPS server right from the start (around $30 per month). If you have a small site then a better shared hosting + caching plugin might be good enough.
2. WPRocket caching (yesss!)
3. Cloudflare for CDN and domain resolving (it is currently the fastest DNS resolver in the world and you need to resolve your domain with EVERY request to the server (so for each image, css, js etc. So saving 15 milliseconds with each request does add up). Cloudflare CDN is included in my hosting (I believe it is usually around $10/mo) and they have now made the DNS resolving free as far as I know.

TADAA! You've got a website that will load within 1-2 seconds all around the world and will score 98-100% in the core web vitals.

You should check your website on pagespeed insight. There you will see why your site loading slow. Then try to fix those speed error.

Method; Fixing your messed up website for $1.

Take advantage of their $1 try out, get them to fix your site, then move your site out when it is fixed, stop the subscription .. =)

They are worth the $25 a month but yeah
$1 to fix a website + host with them for 30 days is a bargain really.
 
Try any shared hosting service with Litespeed. Litespeed loads your site quickly, but you'll need a solid host server to get the most out of it. I'm using a shared host from one of the BHW sellers. My websites are hosted by @DamoHG. They provide excellent shared hosting with a litespeed server. I use WordPress for my websites, and they now load really fast. You can look up my host @DamoHG; I believe they also provide a free trial.
 
I reckon that starting with shared hosting account is the best option to begin with.
Most providers have money back guarantee period which you can consider as period for tests.
 
I recommend namecheap or Hostinger (I personally use namecheap). Namecheap is a reputable company that has been around for over 22 years and offers reliable services.
Hostinger is a newer company, but its service is just as good as namecheap.
