Ok, so it seems that soon it should be about time for me to upgrade my hosting plan to a better one, because currently i'm using shared hostgator plan, and sometimes at the evening my site has even more than 1000 unique visits online and i'm starting to get 500 internal server error, my site even was shut down a few times because of eating too much of resources. I used to get before max 500 users online and it was fine, but now it is obvious that i have to move to a better plan.

Now when i look at dedicated hostgator servers, i think do i need to pay 100+$/ month for my hosting? I get around 10-15k unique visits day, sometimes going over 20k a day. Still i don't think that i need to pay that much for my hosting.

Maybe VPS hosting should be a better solution?

Any ideas?

Are you really seeing 1,000K users on your website at one time?

What website script are you using, wordpress?

I would suggest to go for a VPS from a high reputable company.
Rent a VPS with a cPanel license and you will be ok.
The only negative towards VPS and dedicated is that you will not have a secure place to get your backup, so be carefull on this.

How are you making a recommendation when you have no idea what his requirements are?

Yeah, sometimes at the evening i can see even more than 1500 users online, but that mostly happens on Saturday and Sunday, on a normal business day i can see mostly below 1000 users online at the same time in the evening, and in the morning or at day, below 500.

Yes, i am using wordpress for my site.

I am looking only at hostgator at the moment or any other reputable company, not looking to get "cheap" plans from people in here. (i mentioned this, because i've received some PMs with these offers, so don't waste your time, because i'm not interested).

Anyone using in here hostgator VPS with at least 30,000-50,000 unique visits a day? what VPS level you have?

If you have the knowledge, go for an unmanaged VPS. They are very cheap and effective. I use DigitalOcean and I'm very pleased with them. Good luck!

go for unmanaged vps.
Bluevm.com are cheapest.
For my site i am only paying 7.50$ a year ad i have got 128mb ram 100 gb bandwidth which is more than enough for my site.
+ my site is only getting 100-300 pageviews daily.
for your specification i think 1 gb ram is enough for your site,
go for this
https://www.bluevm.com/cart.php?gid=42

no need to buy vps go with geniushost(.in) every cpanel of genius host with 1Gb Physical Memory & 1Gb Virtual Memory. best canadian webhosting with pure ssd drive, cloud linux, lite speed sever, fast speed, no downtime.

What he says.
If it's for porn, Solidhost is DA PLACE
Not cheap but it's the DAMN BEST SUPPORT I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTER PERIOD !

By the way, don't go with Arvixe, my WORST nightmare after all of those decades online !

I am not interested in any other hosting provider, i am choosing between hostgator's VPS and dedicated.

I have no problems of paying little more, but at least i know that i'm choosing a reputable company (yeah i know, they used to be better before, now sometimes they suck with their downtimes, but at the moment i'm still interested in them, if i see that i have problems with VPS or dedicated, i choose some other reputable company.)

If anyone in here is using hostgator's VPS or dedicated server, please share your thoughts in this thread. Are you satisfied and how much traffic you get for your site(s). How your plan handles your traffic, etc...

Currently i'm looking at VPS LV4 or LV5 (hostgator). I think with my current traffic, it should be more than enough and i don't need to pay more than 100$/month.

Did you check liquidweb, they are not cheap but they have the fastest support i have seen so far and also have excellent hardware SSD hosting and cloud.

take a look there.
