What has happened to automatic backlink tools? Any still around / working?

Ok, so it's been some years since I've had a website. When I did have one, all I did was use fully automated tools to get backlinks and it worked pretty well for me in moderation. From what I read on this forum it doesn't really work anymore Google has caught on to it.

Regardless of this, I still want to give it a go and see for myself. Are there any fully automated directory submitters / blog comment / article submitters still available for download on this site? I've used the search tool but I keep dragging up really old shares where the software or links no longer work

Yes, a lot has changed now. Now if you want to succeed in ranking your site then you've to make a strategy. The days of loading a website in senuke and BOOM have gone.
To your 2nd question, for fully automated link building tasks, try GSA SER and Scrapebox.

Content needs to be top notch. I use at least 25 wordai spun articles per project, Don’t leave any patterns with the way the software places your link. You need different content around your link, each time. So don’t set SER to post your link with a random sentence without modifying the languages file and create many custom sentences. Maybe even throw a %keyword% macro in there from time to time and other macros that exist for just this purpose

And that’s not all you need to customize. Everything that SER does by default or automatically must be customized. If it can be customized, customize it. Make it readable. Make it relevant. So if you’re trying to use Kontent Machine 3 to one click and import data fields, forget about it. Don’t even install anything.

All this stuff still works but it’s only working for those who know what they are doing with it.
