I want to hear from you. What has been your expired domains experience?

#1. Always check DA/PA of domain before buying
#2. Always check domain with Google banned checker
#3. Check Google AdSense ban
#4. Check archive of website
#5. Check PageRank very carefully

Expired domains work well, but you need to be careful and do extra research before buying one.
I have been actively selling expired domains to SEO companies since 2011.

Used as 301.. Worked like magic!

I don't think so. In my experience, I had a huge drop in a established domain after buy a expired domain and redirect(301) to main domain.

The expired domain should have good metrics, and obviously shouldn't have penalized earlier and full with spammy links. If I assume you did check it well, there might be some other issues except that 301 redirection.
I did, and it worked!

Please tell me,

How many domains did you redirect to your main url?

is it from your related niche or another niche?

What did you do with the pages from the expired domain? Redirected to main url or created similar pages in the new domain?

What about the anchor text regarding the old domain? you should faced a anchor text dilution, don't you?

Just simple..
Something related to my niche [the much closer to the niche, the better].
Suppose your niche is football, then a domain related to any sports would do great.
I didn't even touch the expired domain, left as it is, just put it in a hosting.
Just one redirection, but experts sometime do 2/3.
Didn't create any similar page, just redirect the root domain to my homepage, that's all.
