What happens when you change website?

- The content is changed.
- The URLs remain.
- The template is changed


Will all your rankings drop?

When you change the content (even making a major improvement) it will drop significantly. It will take a few days to a few weeks to settle into where it will finally rank.

Changing template will have little affect on ranking unless it slows or speeds up your site, but it will be minimal.

So first drop in rank then another wait to get back where it was? I completely revamped everything on my site.. will this drop my rankings to shit?

Not exactly. if the changes are far better for a mobile user experience, and there's validated traffic and activity to make the googlebot crawl n index everything quickly, your rank won't be down for long since URL structures are the same. But again, its also a good thing if it is slower and lower in rank, so u get a sense of how your new content matches up with the top ranked sites.

You can easily observe n make better edits that way

It depends on what changes you are planning to do.

If you want to change the text by adding some more, then you could see an improvement.

But if you want to re-write the whole piece, it could go either way.

First, you have some drop on your site and then you may have some Improvement.
