Admittedly, I have been focusing more on my herd than on my internet ventures as of late. I recently got a high speed line out here and I now have a reliable internet connection. Upon logging in, I was surprised to see that SocialEnvy and InstaFame have both stopped operating. I know that many of you focus more on personal schemes rather than clients' accounts, but these were two of the most prominent services advertised to everyday people and were--though this word means something different to me as a rancher--cash cows.
SocialEnvy is no longer accepting new clients, but was using a plugin called Proof to demonstrate that they were getting 800+ daily subscriptions. Assuming they weren't gaming the system in some way, at the prices they were charging, they would have been generating an exorbitant, life-changing amount of money. Does anyone have any more information on what happened there?
Instafame never attained high search rank after its redesign ~6 months ago, but was probably the most successful service on social media platforms. Advertisement videos on Facebook have amassed hundreds of thousands of views. Also, the co-founder (who I won't name but you can easily research), posted a picture on Instagram in January of Instafame having generated $200,000 in revenue in Stripe. I don't know whether this was for the year, for the quarter, since inception, totally fake, or whatever, but I'm inclined to believe there is some truth in it. The last few times I've checked, the website has been inaccessible.
I've seen quite a bit of shuffling on the first page of search results for related keywords, and I'm wondering if anyone can help me determine what's going on. The margins in the consumer-facing side of this business are--obviously--incredible, so why aren't we seeing one service come to totally dominant? Are the most successful platforms being shut down or simply are their methods of automation drying up and results faltering as well?
