Hi,

Can anyone explain what I'm experiencing with my site?

Yesterday it was ranking on page 3 for its keyword, and now, *poof*, gone!

Not anywhere on the first 100 pages. However, all of the pages from my blog appear throughout the results, my main URL does not come up anywhere though. It also appears if I use the "site:" prefix.

Does this sound normal?

Have I been sandboxed?

Seriously if you want any kind of intelligent answer you need to give us some more info.

How old is your site?

How large is it?

Have you been adding content?

How many backlinks?

Recent backlinking activities?

Basically trying to answer your question with the info you gave is like calling up your doctor and telling him you do not feel good without giving him any more specific info and expecting to get an answer that is going to do you any good.

Ok, fair enough, point taken. My apologies.

OK, site was registered in January, it's about 6 pages, along with a blog that I try to update regularly.

I have been adding content at regular intervals, save for a 10 day absence last week while I was on holiday.

PLenty of backlinks, but unable to determine how many, as backlinkwatch claims I have zero, and I have no other way of determining it.

Recent backlinking activities began again yesterday, with some manual backlinking efforts.

Other times I have purchased services from here and been quite disappointed.

Anything else that might help?

Just use majestic seo to determine backlinks and as you have said that you are building plenty of links then it may be google dance ....if you are using google webmaster tools then check it as you may have received some type of message about the site..
If there is no message then calm down and wait for at least 10 days as it will be so early to predict..

Thanks for the reply, dude. Appreciate it.

I'm mainly worried, because I paid for some idiotic 20,000,000,000,000 backlink blast offered on here, and the links were awful. I purchased way before I knew what I was doing. Lesson learned.

At the time, my site dances all the way back to page 30 at one point, but a week later it was back to page 2 again, where it held fast before slipping ot page 3 last week, and then yesterday, *poof* completely gone.

I've done no SEO for two weeks due to holiday, so wondering how I could be penalised so badly, or dancing at all.

I'll check the tool out, thanks for the tip

Ah, that site is fantastic. OK, apparently, there are 1005 external backlinks.

Same happened to my website last night at 11pm. Top 10 for all keyword then bang all gone and disapeared. Checked this morning they come back but are all dancing like crazy on pages 4-5-6-7, Rankings are dancing literally every 10-15minutes. I am thinking it could be either the honeymoon period of a new site (Mine also made in Jan) Or the new algo update. Sucks.

WTF do we have to keep adding content?

So is G. saying all site now have to a "library" (Ehow, Wikipedia, etc.) of useful info. continously updated or ,poof, gone? Not good enough.

So if I was plumber wanting to rank my one page contact web site top of G...it's waste of time? I'd have to write 20 articles on "plumbing advice" to please them? Since when did 2-4 page sites become useless G.?

I do not understand them? We have to keep jumping through their crap hoops add more coentet and cross our fingers they are happy with it.

I aint playing the "kiss G's ass" game any more. They aren't worth it!

I think you are more in a dance than sandboxed. This happens to me all the time mainly with newer websites since theydont have many backlinks.

I would start building some quality backlinks to your site, and use the major backlink packages to your tier 2

I am going through this also right now. My site is built in WP, and it has a static home page. I have been ranking well for over a year and as of Sunday poof home page is nowhere to be found. The only pages that are still getting Google traffic are the blog posts.

My site is over 10 years old with 120k links showing in google webmaster tools.

It has been mentioned on here a few times about a possible algo change in regards to external over optimized anchor text. This seems to be the most logical for what is happening to my site at least.

Well, 24 hours passed, and still no sign of my main URL. Very confusing. It's literally not on the first 100 pages, but like already said, plenty of pages from my blog can be found throughout.

Going to continue building backlinks.

Does anyone mind explaining what building backlinks to my tier 2 means?

1 month is pretty early. Seems pretty usual. Just wait it out... You are building more sites right?

No, just the one site. It's my business site, I'm just a photographer trying to gain an advantage.
