There was a time (2006 - 2012?), when I would make one post, for purchasing some type of service and I would get about 50 inquires. About 10 of them were promising.

Today you get hardly 5 or 7 inquires and all of them are probably waste of time.

Is there any other webmaster forum that has taken over? I don't see a lot here though.

i totally agree, used to buy and sell fb pages so easily there :')

no other webmaster forum
but fiverr may be
or elance

i think WF or BHW takes its place. now a days market is divided in different different forums and sites ! you have to check each of them regularly ! don't settle in just one

They made huge mistake when they killed their forum based marketplace and moved it separately, since then their traffic went downhill.

You see, nowadays all the webdev related forums use their marketplace as main attention grabber and DP simply got rid of it.

I just got banned from Digitalpoint point today, but as you say the quality has gone down do doesn't worry me.

Digitalpoint was pretty good back then. But they failed to have a friendly moderation and stuff. If digitalpoint had good moderators and moderation like BHW, it would have still been golden. But hey, BHW is golden and we are here :D So its cool.

Digitalpoint is not like before. They are very strict with their members.

DP is horrendous now.

People are so dull on there it hurts, BHW seems like it's reigning supreme right now (although visitor numbers may not exactly indicate that).

WF is full of stupid shit and half-assed WSO's too, so in my personal opinion it's only a matter of time before BHW takes over.

Our BHW MarketPlace has got a good Amount of BSTs but still you can use Google

I'll never understand why so many businesses have really stupid mods, and some of the sites are set up as more of an investment so they end to not really get complaints about the mods. If I owned a large forum like BHW,DP,WF. I would have some kind of "internal affairs" or a supervisor that makes sure the mods are acting in a way that helps to increase revenue rather than decrease revenue.

Isn't with DP and WF, if you expose a scammer they ban you instead?

Been watching so, on many many websites these days, they actually ban you without warning.

I also remember, back in 2008, a lot of people had lost interest in DP, because they used to grant long term bans (up to 1 month) on any user just because he/she has posted thread in wrong venue.

We can say that they are watched by their owners or pioneering moderators until they feel that the website can be handled without their presence, once they move away for a few hours, these websites are turned into some kind of hostile battleground than collaborative projects.

I think the change of the DP's vBulletin forum skin also had a big impact on this. I hope BHW is not going to do any such changes.

A skin change isn't going to have any long term impact. In fact upgrading may help if it increases reliability and speed.

DP died due to its updates in how they ran their forum. The site was decent for a time but slowly lost its luster when WF starting becoming the place to go. Now WF is trash with lq sellers that are making quick bucks off the idiots. BHW is, in my opinion, the best site even though some of the sellers here are over pricing their services. But whatever. Everyone needs to make a living. Plus, the community here is helpful and the asshats/leechers/lq users all get taken care of by mods accordingly 98% of the time.
I'm just disappointed how sketchy these other places have become and how sadly desperate every IMer is to rip other people off.
We could all write a bs WSO and make sales off of it because we paid someone on here to make a thread design for it for $30 or less. You'd still turn a profit if you sold your wso at $5.
It's truly baffling.

DP is so BORING nowadays, I mean there are literally no good threads, you can't learn anything on there anymore because people post the dumbest shit. It's seriously like a broken record.

As for the marketplace, I used to post an ad for my services and get a bunch of replies, nowadays I don't get much work from DP. When I do get a reply its usually someone who wants me to put in way too much work for what they're willing to pay. I am affordable as it is, but wow, people on there are cheap!
