What happened to AHREFS? Completely different stats, new update?

Ok... So I checked one of my sites today on Ahrefs and the stats are completely different than some weeks before.

For example my Ahrefs rank went from 12 million to 5 million, but on the other side my DR went down from 43 to 8! I couldn't believe what's happening so I checked my main competitor and his DR also dropped from 48 to 14. So are there any new algorithms on Ahrefs? It's also weird that it tells me that my site doesn't get any organical traffic and ranks for 0 keywords, although it gets thousands of monthly visitors and actually ranks pretty well in reality. (Some weeks ago the estimated traffic was similar to my Google analytics stats, but now...)

Did anybody notice something similar when using Ahrefs now?

PS: IDK if that matters, but I'm using not an "official" Ahrefs subscription. It's kinda like a "group buy" version. Could that be the issue?

They changed the way they calculate Domain Rating. They have a blog post on their site explaining it a little bit.
 
Yeah I noticed that as well, you should have gotten an alert when you logged
in telling you they changed they way they calculate there metrics.
 
They should allow users to enter a "filtering level" so that zero means the old DA and 10 means their new DA and we can check what it'd look like using the old metric if wanted.
 
There is also an alert at the top of the page that says:

We have made changes to how Domain Rating (DR) is calculated. Please don't be alarmed if you see a sudden drop. Read More.
 
do you use it's keyword analyzer tool? How accurate is that?
 
Was there another update? Now my DR jumped from 8 to 28.

yes they are still recalibrating it a bit from feedback. i saw a small jump back up too. should stabilize within a couple of days
 
These services do keep changing their metric algo, so nothing to worry about.
 
Majestic did this about a year ago and I still get people asking me why they can't find any TF 40 domains anymore.

The thing is these companies are not search engines so why do they care if there are X domains at Y DR, they know their customers are relying on these stats and changing them like this just confuses a huge number of their customer base. Why would they just alienate a bunch of their customers, it does nothing to help understand the rankings of domains.
 
Well since the new update my DR went up from 17 to 40 - will have to check how the new DR is calculated.

it was my exact first thought. i hella dont remember my old DR*

oh well i blocked bots anyway so no use on ms for me
 
My 52 got cut in half, then revised back as the new new. Then crept to 57. I am somehow below 370k on my ahrefs rank.
