What happened on 6/23 - 7/12?

My site was ranking ok, then disappeared, then came back way lower. I haven't done any SEO on this site in years. It commonly ranks on reputation alone.

Google has been releasing pretty significant updates on an almost monthly basis now, so you most likely got caught in the core update hell. Sorry about that mate.

A couple of updates,
I can't find anything clearly reported out or case studies showing the possible reason for these updates,
A ton of websites still do rank with spammy content, maybe things are tough with links tho,
The best thing is that you should always be sure that your website gets the right content & links to avoid any similar sudden drops & get more guaranteed results
