What guidelines you follow when making your website articles ?

Ive been wondering for a while, how people go about writing their websites articles.

For instance you are targeting X amount of keywords:

Do you pick X keywords and use it to make the article ?

Do you write an unique article that is about the keywords and targeting the keywords you selected or do you go further and actually write a worth using article ?

For example lets use the keyword F1 racing:

This would be a generic example: {My F1 racing car is awesome and the best of the circuit however not all f1 racing cars are as good}

While this would be a more realistic article: {The F1 racing which was supposed to be held this Sunday was postponed to Monday where we will have the following participants <.....> running on the first 3 positions of this incredible F1 race}

My examples might not be as good but I hope you get the point I was trying to show.

How often you repeat the keywords used or you do that only once or doing more then once will also hurt the articles ranking ?

Would love to hear some experienced members on this topic as I am currently starting to write articles for my own sites.

I'd would say take it a step further and make the article something that is high quality and useful, not just a generic "SEO Article" especially if you're planning on using it in your money site. Generic articles suck and don't get linked to. They're fine for article marketing (for seo purposes).

Don't try and stuff keywords in your article, this is a dead giveaway to google. Only use your keyword if it occurs naturally and sounds right in context. Don't stuff or pay attention to metrics like "keyword density."

Generally, you want to use the keyword in your article title, the first and last paragraphs and a couple times throughout the article. This all depends on the length of your article though.

Don't use keywords (or sentences) like this - "f1 racing is great. I love to do f1 racing because my f1 racing car is the best."

And be sure to also use variations of your keyword (i.e. "forumla 1 racing" "racing in formula 1") and use related keywords (i.e "race cars" "grand prix" "racing tires" etc) But again ONLY if it makes sense to use.

Write for humans first, then go back and optimize it a bit for keywords/seo.

Thanks for the advices they were sort of what I was thinking I was thinking about writing the article first and then look on what I could improve on it but was not really sure it would be the best way to go.

Another idea you may want to try is to buy a top notch written article in your niche or for your targeted keywords (should run you around $10 - $15. Study and learn from the article and duplicate its structure and style while changing the content/keywords and improving the quality based on feedback. You can also run split tests with the various methods you decide upon and continue with the formats and content ideas that get the most traffic. Do not get so bogged down in keyword use. Focus on quality and everything else will soon be taking care of itself.

I prefer this method.

1. Try to think about the topic that would be really interesting for your visitors, or even go viral (if 1-2 out of 50 goes semi-viral that's great). Once you figured out what to write about (this should take you 5-10 minutes, put yourself in the visitors shoes) try to make the article title bombastic. Not too long but not too short. If you were my visitor I guess you would like to read the article with the title "5 reasons you fail as a Freelance writer"----> http://askkarine.com/2012/11/25/5-reasons-you-fail-as-a-freelance-writer/ .

2. Once you have the attention of the reader don't just go yada yada but give something that the reader can relate to. Don't go rewriting that everybody is talking about. Write something unique that can help the reader.

3. Now that you have finished your article, now is the time to do your KW research. If you found a good KW but you don't have it in your title try to modify the title, fill in the article with the KW (couple of times), enter the KW in SEO title, enter the KW in Meta description and you're set to go. Why do I do KW research once the article is finished? If you do the KW research first you will think about KW's while you're writing the article and you won't be focused on giving the HQ article to your readers, your mind will be distracted.

4. Rinse and Repeat

Skyrocket SEO - good method, I prefer to do the long tail KW research before writing so I can write an aritcle that may easily rank for a couple long tail terms.

A good way to find article topics is to type your KW into google search (don't press enter) and wait for suggestions. Next move cursor to the beginning of search box and type "how" or "what" - Google Suggest will list off the most popular questions searched for on your keyword.

Seems like a nice and solid idea but I am not sure I would be fit for that... its not really my strong point.

GREAT ADVICE really appreciate, I was initially thinking some along those lines, about finding a good topic and brainstorm a good article out of it that will capture the readers and make it worth for them to come back.

I am glad to say that I have so many options that this isn't really a concern right now, I have plenty topics I can write and diversify from each of my keywords I haven't thinked a lot on it but at least 100's perhaps a 1000's or even more that I can bring out of each keyword without getting myself in a hard position of overlapping others topic.

well written high quality and unique articles is the best ones to put on blos rather than rewrites although a lot of folks still recycle already published contents and maybe worked for them. Thanks for the advice.

Use only unique content, written by you or bought; use keyword research tools (I use Semrush for this) - they will help you to define with keywords; there are no uniform rules to which should correspond the optimum keyword density on the site, it is impossible to prepare the text for the site, keyword density of which will be optimal for all search engines; write text for people, not for search engines; use keywords only when they will look naturally in a text.

Great points SkyrocketSEO -write content for your readers first and the SEs second.

Guidelines for the manufacture of articles each paragraph should there be a benchmark keywords for discussion. A paragraph consists of approximately 100 words.
The focus of the discussion according to the title, the article content to stay focused and conical end of the discussion.
Do not be too long because the reader will be bored reading it. A little but provide meaningful information to the reader.

I agree with Politico, if you make it sound forced it can turn people off, that is, if they pick up on grammatical things. But putting in a keyword from time to time if it sounds right, definitely I'd do that--it's kind of hard not to.
