What guide would you suggest to SEO noob?

I know the terminology and more or less how it all works but my experience is non existant.

I'm looking for a guide that will take me through the workflow, example:
1. After publishing website submit to console and wait 1 month
2. After 1 month you can send a bit social signals and maybe some blog comments
3. etc etc etc (worst seo guide ever)

I'm not asking for some magic formula, just a plan of what to do and when written by someone who knows what they are doing. (free or paid)

Also please don't google it and send me links, I know how to do it.
I'm looking for recommendation from your experience.
