I guess my question should be if it's safe to create multiple (different platform) web 2.0s on the same IP?

Same IP, not in my opinion. There are a lot of options out there, so try to find a couple of others or outsource it.

It's actually quite hard if you're completely new. I would start by buying some web 2.0 links and see what they do and try to gather as much info as possible here at bhw before setting up your own

Main thing is same IP (on the same platform) tbh and make sure it/they have regularly content posted.

Different ones on the same IP don't matter too much.

Same IP on different platforms is not an issue. For the same platform there's a rule 1 account = 1 proxy.

Always clear your cookies after registering a new blog on the same platform. I use fresh installations of Firefox Portable for every new set of accounts with "better privacy" plugin or something like that. Bulletproof.
