Disagree with
@blackh4t. Taking on too many projects could burn you out and prevent you from truly understanding what goes into making a good website.
Focus on project #1 until it's 100% complete. Afterwards pick up a new website and continue to build links daily/weekly to project #1 until it scales on the SERPs. Remember the SEO process can take weeks to months.
Here are my tips for making a good website:
1.) Find your branch of internet marketing. Is it going to be monetized through CPA? Affiliate Marketing? etc.
2.) Do thorough keyword research. You do not want to build a website for a niche that is competitive and saturated.
3.) Purchase a clean expired domain name that has been aged for at least a year to avoid Google sandbox (google if you don't know what it is).
4.) Onsite SEO - Make sure your pages use a silo structure, are optimized for the right keywords (tags/metadescriptions/sitemap), load fast, and are mobile friendly.
5.) Write some amazing content. This is the key to becoming an authority in that niche.
Also on a side note, pick a high quality theme so visitors feel like they can trust your website!
Nothing says cheap than a free wordpress theme or a wix one.
