I started a YouTube channel a year ago but gave up after 10 or so videos, but looking back it was a stupid thing to do because my channel was growing slowly but surely.

For the last month now I've been posting two videos a week, now doing 3 a week and shorts every other day.

I expect to have 1k subs and 4k watch hours by the end of the month the way things are going which is great.

I'm wondering what are the metrics people aim for a video to take off? In terms of CTR, audience retention, video length maybe? Anything else?

I've had some videos with 60% retention and 10% ctr but only got around 4k views before the impressions died down. I don't understand why. They all seem to get a bump from YouTube then die down despite the metrics looking decent. Would like to know what people aim for and their thoughts.
