What else am I missing for generating sales.

I submit to directories for backlinks everyday.
I write articles and submit them.
I post to blogs,
I post in forums

Im missing some extra pieces, Can anyone give me some imput or some additions I need to do to get more people, more sales, and more backlinks.

Ensure that your content is designed by a marketer to encourage sales and modified by an SEO nerd to be optimized for indexing and ranking. Use social networks. Ping, if you're not already. On forums, you may want to do trackbacks as well.

But your question is just too generic to answer.
have youy tested your niche, for example with PPC to determine if there is a demand and that your website is convertion.

From the traffic standpoint you could add some social network tactics.

Do you do any testing and tracking to see what converts or not?
