How the HELL do you get an image to post correctly?

I have never gotten it to work. Someone help me out here

@Techxan - upload to imgur , then get the image link and put it into [ img] tags :)
 
Mine looks like a big pile of zip files, excel files, folders, IMprograms (most of which i have used only once), etc.. across the whole screen.. I can't even see the background image behind
