What does profile links mean?

Many sites allow you to create profiles on their site and most of them will let you add a link(s) to your website and search engines will count these as backlinks. It is a pretty easy method for getting backlinks but can be time consuming and boring.

I wouldn't say they are the best way, they don't provide high PR and take a while to submit to.
From my experience both blog comments and profile links from high PR sites do hold quite a bit of weight.
I use those two methods almost exclusively most of the time.

High PR Profiles are there mate...Profile links are always best one to get good traffic and Backlinks too....

you can search some high pr forum and other social networking sites, like xanga.com blogspot.com, forums.plexapp.com, forums.plexapp, facebook.com and many more do research in google you will get thousand.

the thing about profile links is that you most of the time you cannot add anchor text..id say forum signature would be better for that..but profile links are great if you are not trying to use anchor text
When people refer to profile links, signature links are included.
Any site where you can create a profile at and leave an anchor text link (either in the bio section or signature) comes under this category.
