So, I have a OPPO K3 (Model no. CPH1955, SDM 710 processor. Comes with ColorOS) phone that I want to make bloatware free (or preferably install a custom OS like LineageOS). I need help from you pro guys. Do I need a custom fastboot for this particular model? Do I go TWRP way? I just see lots of jargons on the internet that leads to a few sites, and none of them does what I need lol.

I understand that rooting might brick the phone or cause infinite boot loop. I am okay with that, as I am going to buy a new one anyway.

I am fairly good with linux, and I have basic understanding how adb works. But that's about it. I am not really a pro at android OS. Any help regarding this would be very much appreciated. :)

Edit: I saw an android related thread by Deleted member 923340 recently. Do you know how to do this, bro? :D

You need root access to uninstall system apps or custom os. Unfortunately there is no universal root for all android phones, fortunately for me every android android phone i own has a sub-forum on xda with several instructions on how to unlock bootloader, install custom bootloader, root etc.

You need to search/post on forums dedicated to android/oppo phones twerking, bhw is not it.

As you said you can install a custom ROM which should get rid of the bloatware, or just root it and use a root uninstaller from the play store.
If not then consider just disabling the apps you don't like.
XDA is the best place for this kind of info.

Thanks for the answer guys. Yeah, I get it that BHW isn't probably the best place to discuss about hacking Android devices; but why not? I am sure we have more than one android pro guys over here. By the way, I did take a look at XDA before posting, and it had no info on this particular model. This got me into thinking, what does it take to port a custom android rom to any device for that matter? Also, if I manage to unlock the bootloader somehow; does it mean that I can install any custom OS on the hardware? Or, are the OSes tied to a particular processor/hardware?

If anyone is able to do it professionally, let me know. I will open a WTB/HaF thread for that (ofcourse, only paid members can apply for it due to BHW restrictions). I am willing to pay for it too.
