What does it take to get a fanpage "viral"

Ok,

I recently made a page and invited 540 people, and in just over 24 hrs it has 178 fans. I think the page itselfs is quite clever and I cant believe no one else thought of it. It is gaing fans at approx 10 per hr.


My question is, what exactly does it take a page to go viral?

How many people should I expect to invite in order to get a page to go viral?

Would you normally get more/less fans by inviting 500 people?

Thanks, I guess what im asking is, I feel I have a good killer page, but im not sure....

You need to invite a LOT more people...Most people invite upwards of 15k or more and then if the page is good it will go viral.
 
Let me help a little, it is all about the main subject on your fan page, if you launch it on a never ending niche you are on a good path to finding some success. In the other hand get ready to get slapped by FB they just hate BH'ers :D LOL

Yah, thats what I was thinking, but in your opinion do you think 178 people in 24 hrs from a 540 invite shows potential?

Actually 181 now :p
 
All of my pages have been a slow buildup to a few thousand fans, and then it starts to pickup. Took me about 3 days to get going (15k fans or so) and it really started rolling from there (1k+/hr), and then Facebook shut it down :(

Ok, well just paid for 2 more PVAs as I dont want to risk getting my fanpage account banned.

Gonna add a steady 150 people each day, once they hit 5k each, Ill invite + trade invites hopefully for epic viralness.

The key is getting to the point where you don't have to request the people to become friends, they are requesting to be friends with you. Once you are there you will have a few accounts with 5k friends pretty quickly.

My suggestions: create real looking accounts, with photos (no faces), fill it out with some info, post some wall posts, status updates, apps, etc

Then join groups like mafia wars, where they get points for having people and you will get friends fast. Then after you get those people invite their friends. This will build your friends quickly.

Once you have the 5k friends in a few accounts, inviting them into the fanpages is all good.

Why are they getting shut down? Is it the 2-week validation thing or are they just shutting them down for another reason? Get any conversions out of it before they got killed?

The page was fairly blackhat, lets leave it at that :P

I made about $2k in the 3 days it was up.

Hmm... you took the spam the shit outta it form max profit :p approach instead of slow and steady :P

I am taking it slow and steady for other pages, but that page used the rape & pillage approach.

If it had stayed up a bit longer I would've made much much more. Facebook had to ruin it :(
 
Is there like a group anywhere that helps each other out with getting fans on their FB pages?

I know! Its so frustrating, im thinking go for glory, blast through some big pages and get CPA'ing, i left it too long before getting anything out there. I bet that if i took it slow and thought of a great idea some pompous person would nab it right at birth.
 
Or make a page with NO cpa offer to begin with.. get a few k fans and then start pushing offers. People hate the "Become a fan to see <xxx>" and just usually report as spam =\ Be creative guys!!

Yeah, i am going to have to try a few interesting new techniques,
this week is for exploring, ive been too lazy recently.
Funds aren't going to build themselves!!
Sean you've given me the boost to really go for it this week!
 
what would u say WHEN is a page viral? if it gets 5k+ , 10k+ or 20-40k+ a day?!
