What does all this mean?!

Thats my website compared to three competitors in 'Link Metrics' on Moz. I spent about $500 on SEO in the past month. My website at around 15 on the SERP and these are in the top ten. So I'm confused, if they're so close on the SERP, why does all of this seem like my website is terrible compared to those. What does it even mean? How do I boost it up?

I'm assuming your website is the one of the far left with the low stats? Normally I would tell you to be patient as good SEO takes time, but it doesn't appear that your SEO company is building links to your website. Either way, the top ten websites are usually the most competitive websites, so it's not unusual for their to be a large gap in stats between websites on the first page and websites on the second page.
 
Also bear in mind that the Moz index takes some time to refresh and if your site is very small you'll have to wait until seeing your metrics updated.
 
What exactly did that $500 purchase give you? What was promised? Did you just hand over your money and say I want to rank?

I hope he didn't just give $500 to a shoddy SEO company. OP, did your SEO company send you a report on what they did to rank your website?
 
Its not how much you spend on seo but what link types you buy that counts. So, do you know what you got for your $500?

Unfortunatly, that usually is the case. But... I guess one's way of learning. Just a very expensive way of learning if you asked me.

It's not all about links when it comes to "Search Engine Optimization"

It's amazing that "companies" like that have such an easy time finding new SEO clients to scam but I have a difficult time finding just 1 SEO client and my business is legitimate. :D

Sorry for the bump, just saw this thread had replies but the services I bought were all on BHW and had a lot of good vouchers
 
You may also give the name of the provider; not to bad mouth, but to keep us all alert and posted.

Do you have any specific information on the services they provided (like reports) or any information on the providers that you could give us so that we could help you with your conundrum?
 
To me, it sounds like that $500 was end up on one shaddy seo service around, an expensive way of learning I guess

$500 a month for full SEO is extremely low, so that doesn't surprise me. Solo SEO Consulatants without much client experience typically charge $750+ a month (more experienced consultants usually charge much more than this), and medium-sized companies will charge even more.

Checking his post history he bought a platinum package ~$427 from Speed Rank and Gold Package ~$97 from SEOLINKCAFE's Link Building Service.

Nice catch, blackhype1! Both of those appear to only offer links. OP, did you ever get any on-page SEO done for your website? You can buy all of the links you want, but it doesn't mean much in the long run if the pages they are have not had on-page optimisation (keyword density between 1-3%, tag modification, URL optimisation, image tag optimisation, etcetera).
