What do you think about US politicians?

I know this isn't directly related to black hat stuff, but it does effect us all in a general sort of way.

Many of our freedoms are being taken away - not in a big sudden way, but gradually, over a period of time.

I can recall when I was growing up, that people generally believed whatever the government said. You just naturally accepted it as the truth.

A common saying in America when praising something was to say that it 'Was sound as the dollar'. If a product was considered as being top quality, it was called 'The Cadillaic of' whatever it was.

I don't think I've heard any statements like that for a long time.

President Bush has a lower approval rating that any president in recent times. And congress has an even lower approval rating.

Everyday, I read scandolous news about our political leaders. Most, if not all of our political leaders are millionaires or multi-millionaires. Do you really think those bastards are truly representing us, the common citizens? Do you think those well-to-do politicians have ever faced foreclosure because they didn't have the money to pay the mortgage payment or did they ever have their electricity turned off because they didn't have the money to pay the electric bill?

I recall when the gas prices first started to increase in the mid 70's - a California politician remarked that he was happy about the increase. He hoped that the price of gas would get so high that common people couldn't afford to drive - that way, he wouldn't have to deal with the traffic jams caused by the public.

Taken from Al Gore's 'An Inconvenient Truth' -

If you toss a frog into a boiling pot of water, he'll immediatey jump out. However, if you put the frog in a warm pot of water, the frog is happy to stay there. If you crank up the heat to slowly bring the pot of water to a boil, the frog will be content to stay there until...

That's the way the politicians are gradually eroding our freedom. There's a long standing joke -

Question - How can you tell when a politician is lying?"

Answer - "His lips are moving!"

If you think the bastard politicians are actually looking out for you, you should take a look at this video - http://zeitgeistmovie.com/

It's a real eye opener! You are being screwed!

Are you a liberal? Are you a conservative? All views are respected. If you're fed up with all the BS, speak up!

I could go on and on, but I don't want to bore you with details - I'd just like to know if others see the injustices that are being perpetrated on the public by our elected officials.

What's the deal here? None of you has the balls to step up and state an opinion? Are you that 'brain washed' by the politicians? Are you afraid to speak up?

Simply, every politician, with the exception of Ron Paul, is a complete liar and criminal. I shouldn't say every, not small town guys, but mostly every congress and senate member are enemies of America.

There are some exceptions. The US government is, and has been, under the control of these criminals and they only push and agenda of one wordl government.

    Think Orwell.

This is not conspiracy, this is fact.

That's good - I'm glad to see there are still some people that have the guts to step up to the plate and speak what's really on their mind.

In my opinion, it really doesn't matter who wins the next US presidential election. They're all the same - self-serving. One's just as bad as the other, so it really doesn't make much difference who wins the election - the final outcome will be about the same.

I think that all politicians are crooks. Even the new people who get elected and have high ideals eventually succomb to the dark side of politics. They may go into office thinking they'll do right by the people that elected them, but after seeing all the other scumbag politicians filling their pockets with money, they finally decide to get in on the deal. Alas, they're now part of the 'good ole boys club' and they don't have to worrry about money anymore. As long as they do what they're told, they'll be set for life.

If you think I'm off-base here, watch the video at http://zeitgeistmovie.com/ and see if you still think that way.

They (the politicians) are mostly liars and cheats and could care less about the little guy that they supposedly represent. There are a few that are banging their collective heads against the wall trying to get something done. However, I don't think Obama will have the balls to get it done. We have very little choice come November. My belief is that whoever is elected may actually be as bad as Bush. Bush should be put in prison for what he is doing to those guys in Cuba and for getting us into the wrong war.

    My 2 cents

Hahaha everyone thinks Obama is going to end this war.
He voted for the war and the surge my friend.

I don't know where people are getting this idea that Obama
    is about peace.

And its not like I don't have the balls to step up, its just this is a
lost cause. Everyone knows that these guys are corrupt and can
pretty much get away with anything.

It is just beating a dead horse. What is there to say? Yes they
are all corrupt, they say anything to get elected and then when
they get to office they just become corporate sleezes.

If you look at the previous voting records for either candidate
you'll see that what they say and what they do are two totally
    different things.

The American public is just too retarded to know better, plus
the media shapes the minds of the public so they wouldn't
know better. And since the media is pretty much controlled
by people who don't want you to know better it all works
out fairly well. Given the fact that most American's are so
damn lazy that they won't do their own research we end up
with the same shit over and over and over.

We wonder why our country is in such bad shape.

I just don't care to waste energy on it anymore.

I do agree that Ron Paul has pretty much been the only
candidate that has every actually made any sense whatsoever.
But of course America would rather just have 4 years of the
same shit. Just raise them taxes to fund our wars that we
already can't afford while the dudes at the top bank huge.

Which is why I'm saying this issue is just beating a dead horse.

I believe everyone is just sick of talking about it. Its not that anyone
lacks the balls to step up as you put it, everyone is just sick to death
    about discussing it.

I'm sure most in here know nothing is going to change so why even
have a debate about whether politicians are shit. We all know they
    are haha.

I too have been looking more and more and do indeed believe are freedoms are being taken away slowly but surely. Its funny because if you would have asked me how I felt a few months ago I would have said the opposite. For those that are liberty minded you should check out the Free State Project and Free Talk Live (http://www.freetalklive.com) and their podcast/live shows.

Liberal, Conservative, Democrat or Republican... 4 conflicting ways of thinking and there will never be an agreement between the 4. It's an argument waiting to happen and I'd just sit here and take what's coming to us. American's aren't oblivious to what's happening... we're powerless; at least we still have our guns for now.

Do you realize that you actually have very little influence over who will be elected?

As far as the primaries go, it's the delegates and super-delegates that determine who will run for the Democratic or Republican party.

And when it comes around to the general election, there's the popular vote and the electrorial vote.

The popular vote is the voice of the common people, like you and me.The electoral vote is a bunch of politicians. And who do you think actually votes for the president?

It's not the popular vote - it's the electoral vote that counts.

There have been cases in the past where the majority of Americans have voted for one candidate, but the electoral vote selected the other candidate.

Which candidate do you think won? It was the candidate the electorial votes went for. So, as it turned out, the American people wanted candidate A and the politicians wanted candidate B. The end result was that candidate B won the election.

Did you know that almost all of the politicians that are members of congress are millionaires? Did you know that almost no members of congress have sons or grandsons (or daughters) that are on active duty serving in Iraq? They're certainly willing to sacrafice you or your family, but not their own.

If there really is Organized Crime, it's the US government. Citizens pay taxes so that the government has the funds to supress the population.

Just look at the everyday headlines and see what the politicians are doing. Any sensible person would conclude that politicians do exactly the opposite of what makes sense - and we're paying those bastards to screw us!

Years ago, I lived in Chicago when Richard J. Daily was the major. I had several friends that worked for the city and they all said Daily was as crooked as a dog's hind leg.

At that time, the job of mayor paid $30,000 a year, but mayor Daily lived the life of a multi-millionaire. He had numerous vacation houses, located all over the world. He had servants, limoss, yachts - you name it and he had it.

One time, a group of news reporters confronted mayor Daily and asked him how he could afford such a lavish liftstyle on a $30,000 yearly salary. He laughed and replied that it was because he had 'good investment advisers'.

Remember the Clinton administration? Hillary Clinton made a commodities investment of $1000 that turned into $100,000 in a short period of time. As it turns out, she received (illegal) preferential treatment from the investment firm that enabled such a profit. Would we be able to do such a thing - NO!

And let'snot forget the fact that while Bill Clinton was president, instead of running the country, he was busy getting a blowjob from Monica.

    Aren't politicians great?

I guess the bottom line is -

    1) realize that you're getting screwed by the politicians
    2) You're powerless to do anything about it
    3) Make your own best way

Ditto... What else can be said?! Interpro I don't think that it has anything to do with not agreeing with you because your topic and points are valid.... Its just an unfortunate truth that there isn't much we can do about it... Its out of hand!

Yeah, I guess we're all doomed to live the life the politicians have determined we should have.

Perhaps in the future there will be another American Revolution where the people will clean house and take back control of the country and their future. I sometimes wonder what the founding fathers would think of our present situation.

A few years ago, Ross Perot ran for president and he promised to 'clean house' with all the 'dug in' politicians. I wish he would have won, but there was no chance, going aganst the political machine.

In any event, I guess the best thing each of us can do is to make our own best way.

    Note to themagician -

You seem to have an accurate grasp of current political affairs. You see how those in power are manipulting public opinion and persuing their own interests, all in the name of 'the public good'.

It's indeed unfortunate that we, the public herd, are unable to make a postive change in the current situation. As they say 'You can't fight city hall'.

If anyone has any good ideas how we can change things for the better, I'd certainly be interested in knowing your point of view.

You know something is up when you try to impeachment the president several times and congress doesn't even budge..

This country is in a downward spiral.. The only way to solve this is for the states to take back their rights and rebel.. The war is the hot topic of this, cause through the war their able to pass stupid bills which steal our liberties little at a time..

I don't know what will trigger the minds of americans, but I hope the day comes when they unwake from this trance their in.. I just hope it's nothing too drastic.. I just fear if they do stage an attack that it will be too late..

The "election" is anything but. All candidates are identical, there is really nothing different. These presidential candidates were selected by the elite as were the past ones. Their agenda is just much further now.

The president blatantly destroyed the constitution and was never impeached, never arrested, never questioned.

The public will soon see all of this, people every day are waking up, the only thing as Keedev said, was if there is some sort of staged attack that is blamed on Iran or something. Just like Hitler did..
