Can I still gain a lot of traffics in Travel niche and make a living in 2020?

I think this is a good time to upgrade the site. Many now do not pay such attention because of the coronovirus. Therefore, you can try to prepare for the start of the tourist season.
 
If you work at it sure why not?

Any chance there are micro niches in Travel?
 
yes you can surely make a living in travel niche, just put in the work and be smart and realistic about it.
 
Yes, and also It depends on the effort you put, how you promote it, make it better than other sites in all possible ways.
 
I don't think so. Covid impacted travel industry in big even for online streams. If you got any content in hand, you can try posting them but it will take some time grow just as a regular travel niche follower. Gaining a lot of traffic is hard on such niches.
 
COVID19 has severely impacted the travel industry. Alla berkshire hathaway selling all of their airline stock.

However, this doesn't mean it's completely dead.

According to TheDrive RV rentals are up 650%.

When it comes to travel industry, you've got to think outside the box during these times.
 
About the micronichy of tourism. Does it make sense to focus on tourism within countries or transportation?

Correct! You can upgrade the site and do another businesses base on the user base
 
Only once we've gone through the pandemic. Until then you can get your site ready.
 
Wel you can start to build at the momen, try to rank and brand your site. So after the pandemic end, pretty sure we will got higher deman, than the usual holiday season
 
Look for the opportunities within the niche. Obviously at the moment international travel has been impacted significantly, but perhaps you can find sub-niches, like domestic travel in your country, or as someone mentioned RVs, or something else that will be more popular within the travel niche.
 
It will work just fine when these pandemic days come to an end.

Yes, but there are lots of factors to become successful in the Niche.

You should have to find the Factors your self. If you can, you will be successful.
 
Travel niche will be dull this 2020 due to this covid19 virus. If you've already started, just keep doing the best work.

You probably won’t be able to make any money in the travel niche at the moment, for obvious reasons. However, as people become more tired of the lockdown, the niche will probably rise like a phoenix over the coming months.
So, if you have the means of starting/maintaining a travel blog, there’s no reason not to do it, for as long as you remember that it will probably only start paying off within half a year or so. Just be patient and don’t panic. Tourism has always existed and it always will exist. Play the long game.

Really just comes down to the amount of effort and wherever or not it's really relevant to this day's society, but you can always promote it, to get more attention on it.
 
My suggestion is you can write about travel experiences rather than travel guides. Start with the most engaging travel destinations in the world.
