Watching new videos of deepkakes every hour on reddit. As usual people try to monatize it by creating similar subreddits.
Making websites on deepfakes and asking for donation.
But no thread here (In my knowledge).

it seems that the main subreddit is already banned btw. as for deepfakes - he just made it easy to use for everyone, he hasn't invented something new
 
There is a lot to come from this technology and for now it's far from perfect. But it will be and there are probably already some proprietary alternatives that can do a much better job. In the future, a video you see on the internet would be as believable as the words in an article and everybody would be able to generate realistic looking fake footage. I'm sure some people on this forum will be making a ton of money with something like this in a few years time. And the internet will be an even worse place for it ;)

While the technology and concept has been around for a while, deepfakes got a lot of people interesting in this type of deep learning. I see the biggest potential in a few more years is for the entertainment industry. DIsney could save tens of millions if they were able to negotiate a deal with RDJ where they would just use his likeness on top of an actor that gets the SAG minimum.
