I suppose there really isn't anything you can say other than "I'm working on it, this is just a side thing" in order to get them to leave you alone.
Also depends on who's telling you to get a job. If you don't value your relationship with these people, you can easily just tell them to F off. If it's your family and you're living under their roof, you kinda gotta do what they say. Just do whatever pleases them, while still putting a lot of effort into IM, and when you get your check show it to them so they know you're serious business and not just dicking around.

i have a real job and im trying to make more.
i make $25 an hour IRL and i want to equal that here.
then all my family who thinks im a loser for not finishing high school will learn my plan.

I've got a real job and sure I could probably make more at home, but the contacts, what you pick up in industry knowledge - and really cool corporate nights out make it worth the while.

i would say, "define a REAL job". most of them stumble and say something to the affect of, "being outside your house is a real job". umm, not so much. idiots.
