I'm an avid reader - constantly reading blogs and books about digital marketing, business, personal finance etc.

Someone asked me what books I recommend for online entrepreneurs, so I put my favourite 10 into a list. If you're lazy, here's the list of titles:

Built To Sell
The 4 Hour Work Week
Richest Man in Babylon
Rich Dad, Poor Dad
How to Win Friends and Influence People
The Tipping Point
Outliers
Eats, Shoots and Leaves
Thinking, Fast and Slow
The Automatic Customer

Advertise on BHW
The Richest Man in Babylon is a great book. I haven't finished it though so thanks for reminding me.

My recommendations -

Thick Face Black Heart
The Obstacle Is The Way
Papillion (unrelated to business, but a must read)
The Alchemist

If I think of any more I will add them to this thread :)

The Richest Man in Babylon only takes about an hour to read - you must be a slow reader than me :)

Haven't heard of any of those - which would you recommend I order first?
 
I'm quite a slow reader. I kind of started reading it and then forgot to finish it :)

I'd say read Papillion and Thick Face Black Heart first, but they are all good.

It depends what you like really.
 
I think BHW is all I read. I think I may come across something every year or so that I could relate to my business.

I am not really into all these Charlie blogs, people making pocket change preaching how to make money and SEO.

I never read blogs either. I read BHW, WickedFire and Builder Society (BuSo).

I've always found you can learn things (even if it's what not to do!) from most places, as long as you have a good bullshit detector and ignore the hype!
 
I was in Barnes and Nobles the other day about to buy "The 4 Hour Work Week" however I decided against it as some people say that it is mostly all hype and very little knowledge. What do you think about this?

Yeah my view has always been similar - but if you ignore the hype and don't take the story there are still some good things you can learn. It is quite general but I do know some people who try to run their businesses as lifestyle businesses where they focus on keeping hours to a minimum. I'm one of those people who likes working so never been too concerned about working 4 hours a week - but it's an easy to read book so not the worst choice!
 
I read tons of patents and books about physionomy that could be considered esoteric in nature but gives you a deep understanding of yourself and your body.

I believe that to make the best you can, you need to learn how to use your birthright tools such as your body and the mind faculty.

There are tons of books out there that are probably 30 pages and that show you a lot more than what you were taught in school. :)

I find sometimes if you read these fluffy blogs, it can give you a negative mindset, and question what you are doing.

I have read, in my many years, all of the books published by Stephen King and James Herbert. Currently reading through Joe Hills books, he is the son of Stephen King and certainly has the writing skills of his father with a modern twist!

Who wants to read SEO blogs when you have books from King, Hill and Herbert (who has sadly died :()
 
I was really a bad reader, i just hardly read my educational books. But now a days i am reading blogs & ebooks on online marketing. I think I am growing up for reading. lol

But its true i always read bhw from the beginning, when i joined.

Thanks for the Book list, i will try to read.
 
I read NOS4A2 by Joe Hill last year and it was wonderfully terrifying. I am reading Horns now. I am going to have to check out the 4 Hour Work Week. I had also heard it was a lot of hype, but it has a strong following so it's worth checking out.
