So I previously made a thread about this (read here) all about Justin Bieber's marketing campaign for 'What Do You Mean?' (his new single).
Now after 24 hours (or more) after the release I want to see what records he have broke and if this campaign was actually worth it.
"Justin Bieber?s ?What Do You Mean? Breaks Record To Be Fastest Single To Reach #1 On iTunes" He reached #1 in less than 1 hour. A shit load of money...
He did not break the VEVO record in the most views as Taylor Swift got 19.4M within 24 hours and he only got 8.5M (as of now at least).
I thought it would be way bigger and break more records in the music industry but it didn't really do that. I thought it would absolutely break every record. But getting it to #1 in under one hour is quiet impressive although he did a much larger social media campaign than most of his "competitors".
Just thought I would follow-up, but it was a boring result IMO. If you know any records it hit (or didn't hit) let me know, I am not really into all of this but the results are interesting as it can be useful for us marketers.
