I was thinking of using scrapebox to harvest some URLS I can manually build links on, do that everyday maybe 5-10 backlinks, write 1-2 articles everyday and submit to quality sites, add some social bookmarks etc. Is this a good idea? what do you guys use/do for tier 1?

try UD mate, all in one if you have a few number of sites.. but you will need to buy proxies + captcha

I using GSA search engine ranker. I think you can get a 5 day trial for it.

That is a long and drawn out approach. Bare in mind that a lot of the links you get from SB will be rubbish and filtering through them manually will take an age. Look at software to help, something like Magic Submitter, SENuke XCr, Ultimate Demon, ZennoPoster, Xrumer etc.

I highly recommend you buy Ultimate Demon or GSA Search Engine Ranker if you're just starting out. Both tools are very affordable and offer a lot of diversity for you to experiment and get your feet wet with SEO. :)

Use Quality Link For Better Result You Can Use Bookmarking, wiki, web 2.0 properties..
I suggest Use Senuke Then Use Scrape Box or Ultimate demon or gsa for senuke links!!

Yeah ultimate demon and search engine ranker are a great mix to own. I don't think you'll last very long going through the links scrapebox has scraped for you. It's a pain in the ass doing things manually.

If you're only looking to do 5-10 manual submissions a day, then you don't need scrapebox...just look around here for 'get high pr lists' and you should find tons of pre-sorted lists of high pr properties for posting. Like rugbyjack said, otherwise you may be creating more work than necessary. The only thing that scrapebox will do is maybe produce some unique web properties related to you niche, but that's quite a process for someone new.

You've got the right idea here, but to do this you don't powerful software scraping the internet for 24 hours while you sleep using proxies, to make some giant messy list that may just confuse you.

Also don't only focus on articles posting on these properties, diversification is key....200 crappy articles on pages with 0 PR may give you the same ranking power as one single high-quality press release done right, or creating a quality PDF article with links in it then submitting it to a few documents sharing sites....focus on quality not quantity.

I would start of by building web 2.0 blogs and posting documents on file sharing websites, you can use tools to automate these like, UD (ultimate deameon), GSA SER, Senuke, licorne AIO, Article kevo, magic submitter. or you could build them manually, post unique content (if you can) to each of them. build a few high PR social bookmarks and even some blog comments on relevant sites (don't spam them, and only comment on sites that haven't been spammed). you could build some high PR wiki links (but most are no follow, and have been spammed to death) or even make some profiles. post your link wherever you can but make sure you use quality content and post of quality sites.

here are two lists to get you started

web 2.0 list

document sharing sites
Code:

what I do personally is post unique content on web 2.0 blogs, make some high pr social bookmarks, submit a PDF to file sharing sites, and make a few web 2.0 profiles. I then backlink even more to tier 1, I make more web 2.0 blogs (JCOW, ELGG sites), post to more social bookmarks, post wiki's, and blog comments.

all you have to do is make sure your tier 1 links are high quality and everything will be alright :wiggle:
