Well, I am thinking to buy a domain so your advice would be appreciated :)
lets say the keyword "example" has 800k exact monthly search and you have the EMD domain but its "example.name"
do you think it would be rank for the keyword?
or just waste of time and $$$ :o

It isn't impossible to rank such a website cause here,at poland "watch onlne" with .name domain is ranking at top places but i think it's a bit more difficult to do.

Not sure about .name, but like you, would love to know! I stick with .com,.net and .org at the moment.

However, I haven't seen any .name in any of my search results and I search a ton every day.

tried a few .name
not great - in fact, i disposed of ALL of them
.wasteofadomain
famelametamesamenamegamedamecame.name
;)
....but seriously, be carefull about trademarked names, EG microsoft.name
AND
SEO to hell and back... you just never know, it could work for you

Several domain alternates prop up every week. I still believe the main ones are the best options. Name is just another phase that will pass. Very useful for someone building their own personal resume site.

Off topic...but after looking at your avatar, I can't help clucking like a chicken and everyone around me appear to be sitting in their underwear. Weird.

Anyway, as far as .name goes, any domain extension is rank-able. Why not try it?
