Hi all,
I am doing some extensive research and I would like to see what your opinion is. Other than good reviews, good prices, great customer service, and great uptime. What is some other things that really catch your eye with a provider? Do you look for specific hardware requirements such as SSD?

Thankyou,
Jake

SSD, speed, unlimited bandwith to host videos, support and space.

agree with above.

You would want a host with E5 processors, SSD dirve, hardware raid, light speed, cloud linux, 32 gb of ram on the server or more.
make sure you check there are a lot of host that say they are wordpress optimized but all they are doing is advertising for wordpress hosting and putting you on their regular shared server.

Managed.... my serveradmin has to tell me in time (not when everything is going to shit already) what I need and has to adjust settings/update hardware to the need of the hosted sites.
Managed for me includes setting up new domain/DB's, installing and updating things like ffmpeg, php to the latest version when needed etc. Because if I would like to do/learn all that, I would start a hosting company instead of what I do ;)

If you are planning on starting a host company. I still would start with a reseller account until you build up customers. Unless you have the funds right now.

Then dedicated server. You can save some if you can self manage if not then manage is the way to go. Gives you a little more control with a dedicated server than a reseller account. Its just money. lol

Thanks for the information guys! I already have a dedicated server and about 70 ish clients. I was just researching my next options :)

Some hosting provider placed more number of VPS in single hardware node and due to which VPS become slow even if you have good specification, this thing is definitely needed to be get cleared.

I definitely agree with you on this as well. Over selling is a huge issue.

Yes #Hudson you are correct, over selling is profitable only for the hosting companies not to the customers.
