Very often I find myself feeling guilty after doing anything that isn't work related, and I think this mindset is starting to take a toll on me.

Do you think we need recreational activity? What do you consider time well spent?

Time well spent is time you can look back to without regret.
Life isn't all about work or being productive, in the end we'll all receive the same treatment.

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. So of course we need recreational activities. For me a time we'll spent is time spent on achieving set goal/making money so that I can have time to play hard later:). You know like when you are playing and you refresh your adsense dashboard and the money keeps going up because you have worked hard previously:D yeah I hope you get the picture.

My quick, easy answer for dealing with those feelings is to challenge you to write at the end of the day three good things you did for that day. It helps put things into perspective what you've achieved (instead of this unending cry of "I never do enough") and if you really aren't doing enough (that's probably not the case) then it gives you a small goal to work towards.

I go to a therapist, and we'd talk about having the same issue from time to time.
My feeling is that half of that bad feeling is just your mind playing tricks on you, and this impulse where you feel guilty because the demands of your life outpaces what is asked for you, or your expectations on yourself.

The other half is this spiral where you feel bummed out about things, it becomes this spiral where you aren't inspired to get off your butt and do something about it. It's a little hard to jar yourself out of that cycle, but what I like to do is just do a little thing for myself and use that as an excuse to do another thing for myself and another thing and another thing....

Time well spend it is either earning money or with gf/friends/family.
