Yes you need to buy webhosting and a domain. Then point the nameserver of your hosting to your domain.
Install wordpress - On your webhosting cpanel there is application where you can install wordpress for a single click. After installing Wordpress, just login to your Wordpress Dashboard and setup your website.

000webhost can be used to host a website for free, I don't know if using it long term is suitable with your method, but you can at least use it as practice to learn how create a website before purchasing hosting.

ps. I'm not promoting the site, it's just what I use for testing.

You will need a hosting service and domain name. Service rates will be around $ 4 per month

There is planty of very cheap domains, like godaddy and much more. But search a little bit and it can be even lower then $4 maybe u have some roots from childhood doing it, or friends who can help you out. But free domains with backlinks can be usefull

thats all you need ... you can pay someone to install wp if you are unable to do it. very simple

depends on your goals for the website

domain & hosting is all you need to pay for to start

avoid any free host unless you have no other option. they suck ass, will be slow, have downtime.

you'll need software like "filezilla" to connect to your server and upload your website files
you'll need minimal knowledge in html/css/js/php/mysql depending on what you want to display on your website
if your goal is to set up wordpress, their site has excellent documentation on how to configure everything.

if you are planning to host multiple websites, you could rent a vps and host how many websites you like there

https://www.udemy.com/the-complete-wordpress-website-business-course/

You are lucky Udemy is having a discount on this ^ course.

You can get this course for $10ish over the next few hours (udemy keeps giving discounts for a select few days every month). This will set you on the right path.

Forget about free hosting. Pay for a decent host (Hostwinds is good, Namecheap are resellers but also cheap and good to start with) and point the domain NameServers to your host, then use Softacolous (in cPanel) to install WordPress (best way to start AND continue with) and you should be on your way :)

Maybe you can describe what kind of website you will need. Wordpress is good for a whole bunch of things (landing pages, lead generation, shop, ...). For database applications or others a self build web application would be useful.
