So my end to 2024 is bad...I just looked at my earnings and it's basically gone. My one site which had keywords ranking 1 and bringing in traffic is gone. The crazy part is that my site pages are completely gone from Google!

It' shows indexed In search console but not ranking anymore..none of my keywords.

So what do I do? How do I recover this?

This is my second site, the first one got hit last year and didn't recover but this is my main site and just getting a few keywords back will earn me some money

I don't know where to begin

You have to spend a lot of money on high quality backlinks if you ever wish to recover. Think news backlinks.
 
First of all I want you to calm down.

Then try to find whether you got hit by any update or not. If yes then try to work according to webmaster guidelines provided by that specific update.

If no then try to make a competitors analysis what did you miss that your competitors are good at.

And what about your backlink strategy? Make some proper niche related backlinks.

Above all make a feasibility test, will it be a better decision to invest on it or not. Your previous income might help you to take better decision. Thanks

It is the December update. I was okay the whole year.

So basically got hit with the spam update

Thing is, my pages are nowhere on google anymore so it's difficult to know what to do next. I can understand a few posts showing at least but in my case nothing shows up

OP this is a bad advice at worse or a misleading one at best. If you were ranking before without as many backlinks, and now you're totally out not necessarily lost positions, it's definitely not backlinks that is your issue.

Approach your recovery from a content first point of view, but I will be honest with you, these days it appears recovering from Google's updates are becoming impossible. At least for many sites I have studied. Since, your site is still getting indexed, ever considered covering more topics that are of lower competition to see how they perform?

And more importantly, diversify your traffic source, social media; facebook and pinterest are both doing well for many people. You may want to consider them.

Was your site full with AI generated content? try to check with "site:yoursite com " see if how pages show

I completely agree with you.

Content is where the focus should be.

And also you should wait for the next update as well.

No, most was manually written and edited etc.
Pages do show with that but they just completely gone from serps

Yes I'm hoping the next update will help but right now I just need some keywords back
 
Don't blast links atm
Just focus on content and KW data from GSC
 
Check Google Search Console for any penalties or issues, and ensure there are no technical SEO problems like crawl errors or missing pages. Then, refresh your content, enhance user experience, and work on acquiring quality backlinks to restore your rankings.

There were 3 google updates this month. The one was for spam. Were you spamming on the website? If yes then rectify that. If not wait a bit and don't panic because it might be from the google algo updates.
