What did you left behind for IM

We know that many Internet Giants founders and CEO's were dropouts or had to switch profession.
I am Chemical Engineer and dropped out of PhD program, i was doing research in Carbon Nano tubes, had some research published as well.
Now i am doing fulltime IM.
I plan to continue my research once i have enough money from IM and use it to fund my research/lab.

So what did you left behind for IM.

I left my Civil Engineering degree from a very reputed university in India. Got into IM after I did a content writing 'internship' in a 'startup' on campus. It was mostly doing lame stuff but I was introduced to IM through it. Then in September 2019, I started freelancing and since then I am selling content, guest posts, SEO consultancy services and what not.

That's about it.

You will never have enough. I'm not saying you won't succeed or hit it big, but that the more you make, the more you'll want - this is human nature.
I hope I'm wrong, but that's what I think.

I'm not sure what I left behind because IM was my first career.
